Matter Cycles

Hydrologic Cycle

The hydrologic cycle is a cycle of water through the earth. During this process, water is important in dissolving, moving and transporting the chemicals that organisms need to surrive

Carbon Cycle

Carbon is the MOST important element to survive. It makes up about 20% of total body weight. Producers, such as, plants; photosynthesize and take in CO2 that humans breath out, and turns carbon into tissues. Some carbon returns to the atmosphere when plants and animals respire. When organisms die some carbon is returned back to the atmosphere.

Nitrogen Cycle

In the cycle,Nitrogen moves through the atmosphere and changes within the soil, plants and then goes back through the atmosphere. The nitrogen cycle is the most complex cycle.

  • I think that the carbon cycle is the most important because if something were to go wrong within the cycle, then it is detrimental to the life of organisms
  • I think that we affect the hyrologic cycle the most because the majority of our pollution is created through factories, littering, and everyday activities, gets into the water by a process called run off, which pollutes the water and thecycle.
